Welcome to our website, we hope you enjoy browsing through and finding out about our dogs and Gordons in general.
Kintalis is the kennel name belonging to Peter & Judith Rand, together with our dogs we live in a very small rural village on the edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds. We are lucky to have our own safe land for the dogs to free run but also within a short drive to some beautiful beaches for lovely walks. We have owned gundogs for about 42 years, firstly Golden Retrievers, and the last 25 of these we have been owned by Gordon Setters. We are a small kennel that show and occasionally breed a litter and have enjoyed reasonable success with our dogs. Most of the dogs we own have gained their Stud Book numbers which entitles them to life qualification at Crufts.
Our first meeting with Gordons was at Crufts in 1982, both of us knew then that one day we would love to own one of these beautiful dogs. After doing some research we decided that they would be the right dogs for us, but it was not until 1997 that this came to fruition with the arrival of our first Gordon....
Rushgrove Good Heavens. He was shown and awarded a Challenge Certificate at 16 months old, sadly though he had to be retired early. Next to join the family in 2000 was a bitch ....
Liric Romance. She gained her Junior Warrant at a young age, several Best Puppy awards at Championship & Open Shows and won 1 CC & 1 RCC.
Our Kennel name was granted in 1999 and Liric Romance became our foundation bitch. Her progeny have been lucky to win various awards. Out of our first litter we kept a dog....
Kintalis Lochlaggan - he won his J.W, was BP in Show at Setter & Pointer Ch Show 2003, BP awards at several Ch & Open Shows and Top Junior Dog with the GSA 2004.
K Celtic Aurora was kept from our second litter, although only lightly shown she did account for herself well by being awarded several BP at Ch & Open Shows. From our third litter came....
Sh Ch Kintalis Midnight Star - 6 CC's, 8 RCC's, 3 BOB's, J.W, Top Gordon Setter Puppy 2006, Gundog Puppy Group 3 at South Wales Ch Show and several BP and Group placings at Open Shows. Litter brother to Midnight Star - K Total Stardom, owned by Mr B & Mrs J Hill, had 2 RCC's and accounted for himself well at both Ch & Open Shows.
Kintalis Carisma has 1 RCC & RBIS, although shown she was retired early
Kintalis She's Like The Wind, she has gained her Junior Warrant and was GSA Top Puppy 2010. She has recently been joined by her son K Love On The Rocks.
From our litter Dec 2014, we have two dog puppies being shown..K Winter's Knight owned by Mr K & Mrs R Horler & Miss J Horler and K Winter Ice Diamond owned Mrs M Danks.
All our dogs live with us indoors and are firstly much loved family pets and loyal companions as well as being show dogs. They all enjoy a full and happy life together with daily free running over our fields or a nearby beach, this keeps them very fit and active. Our dogs all have lovely temperaments and as breeders this is one of our main considerations when choosing a sire for any of our litters.
We are members of three Gordon Setter breed clubs and also the Swedish Vallhund Breed Club, therefore adhering to all their relevent Rules & Codes of Ethics. We have both been passed to judge Gordon Setters at Open Show level, plus Judith also judges Vallhunds. Judith is on the Gordon Setter 'B' list & Vallhund 'C' list, with appointments in 2016 for both breeds and Peter is on the GS 'C' list.
